Top Questions We Get About Tiki Boat Tours

(And Everything You Need to Know Before You Cruise)

So, you’re thinking about booking a Tiki Boat Tour? Great choice! Whether you’re in Kelowna soaking up Okanagan Lake vibes or in Vancouver cruising through False Creek, our floating Tiki bars are the ultimate way to celebrate just about anything.

Before you hop on board, here are the answers to the most common questions we get asked. Spoiler alert: yes, you can play your own music.

Is it safe?

Absolutely. Every boat carries Transport Canada–certified lifejackets for all passengers, along with first aid kits and all required safety gear. Our captains are highly trained through Transport Canada programs, including Small Vessel Operator Proficiency and MED3 Emergency Duties. In other words—you’re in very good hands.

Food & Drinks: What’s the deal?

  • As of August 2025 this is how it works:

  • Kelowna: We provide coolers, bottled water, and ice. You can bring your own snacks and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).

  • Vancouver: Our Tiki Boat is licensed! You can purchase refreshing drinks onboard, but no outside alcohol is permitted. Snacks and food are welcome.

Can I play my own music?

Yes! Each Tiki Boat comes equipped with a Bluetooth sound system so you can set the vibe with your own playlist. Whether that’s tropical island beats, sing-along classics, or your pre-party hype list, the boat becomes your stage.

Can I bring my dog?

Sorry, no pets onboard. (Don’t worry—the goats at Off the Grid Winery will keep your animal fix covered if you’re on a wine tour with us.)

What if it rains?

Our boats are covered, so the party continues rain or shine. But your safety comes first—if conditions are unsafe, your captain may cancel or reschedule. (And yes, we’ll always work with you to find a new date if weather gets in the way.)

Are kids allowed?

Yes, kids love the Tiki Boat! Children under 12 must wear a lifejacket (we provide them, or you can bring your own). Just let us know ahead of time so we can make sure the right sizes are ready.

What about restrooms?

We’ve got you covered. Every Tiki Boat has a restroom onboard so you can relax and enjoy your tour without worry.

How many people can cruise together?

Each Tiki Boat holds up to 12 passengers plus crew (Transport Canada rules—no exceptions). If your group is bigger, you can rent multiple boats, like pairing the Tiki Boat with our Pontiki. While boats can’t tether together while cruising, we can link up at swim stops.

How long are tours?

Most tours run 1–4 hours, but we can go longer depending on your booking. Some groups like a quick spin, others want to spend the afternoon on the water—it’s up to you.

Do you charge cleaning fees?

Normal cleaning is included in your tour cost, however we expect our vehicles to be left in a reasonable state at the end of your tour. We may charge up to $500 if additional cleaning is required. Keep it fun, keep it respectful, and you won’t need to worry.

Ready to Cruise?

Whether it’s a bachelorette bash, a family float, or just a reason to sip something cold with friends, a Tiki Boat Tour is the summer experience you won’t forget.
